Ngundu – Tanganda Road Rehabilitation (30km)
Contracted by the department of roads Bitumen World rehabilitated a 30km section of the ngundu to tanganda road. The work consisted of adding a 75mm layer of gravel to the existing base, cement stabilising and compacting a 225mm thick layer using a recycler followed by prime and 19/9.5Mm precoated double seal. The work was completed in 6 weeks.

Harare Drive (Drew Rd to Borrowdale Rd)
Under contract to the City of Harare Bitumen World widened this section of Harare Drive to 10m and reconstructed the existing carriageway. The work consisted of the importation of an additional 150mm layer of gravel, cement stabilisation and the compaction of a 250mm monolithic layer using a Recycler. The completed base was then surfaced with 30mm asphalt followed by line marking to SATCC standards.

Bindura Muchapondwa Road Rehabilitation
Bitumen World were contracted by the Department of Roads to rehabilitate a 5km section of the Bindura to Muchapondwa Road. The work consisted of adding a 150mm layer of base gravel, cement stabilisation and compaction of a 250mm layer using a recycler. The surfacing was a 30mm layer of asphalt concrete and line markings were done to SATCC standard.

Josiah Tungamirai Air Force Base Gweru
Bitumen World were contracted by the Ministry of Defence to rehabilitate existing aircraft hardstands and taxiways. The work consisted of milling off 20mm of existing asphalt and relaying with new asphalt followed by line marking.

Zvishavane Roads Upgrading
As the Main Contractor to Zvishavane Town Council Bitumen World were contracted to upgrade existing high density development roads. The work involved reconstructing the existing subbase, win load haul and compact 150mm base layer, prime and 13/7mm double seal as well as construction of culverts and lined drains.
The value of this project was US$1,115,355
Bitumen World was contracted by the City of Harare to reconstruct West Road in Avondale Harare. The work involved stormwater drainage improvement, additional 150mm layer of gravel, cement stabilisation, compaction, prime and 25mm thick asphalt concrete.

Mabasa Growth Point Access Road (26km)
Bitumen World was contracted by the Department of Roads to reconstruct the access road to Mabasa Growth Point from the main Zvishavane – Shurugwi Road. The work involved the addition of a 150mm layer of base gravel, compaction, prime and 13/7mm double seal.

Gweru Emergency Roadworks
The City of Gweru contracted Bitumen World to carry out the rehabilitation and resealing of various roads within the Municipal area. This involved the importation of additional gravel and compaction of a combined 250mm layer of gravel and insitu base material, prime and double seal.

Marimba and Chitowa Roads Reconstruction
Bitumen World was contracted to the City of Harare for the reconstruction and widening of Marimba and Chitowa Roads.
The value of this project was $2,177,000.
This project consisted of remedial works and precoated resealing to roads within the Epworth Local Board area.

Bulawayo Emergency Roadworks
As Main Contractor to the City of Bulawayo Bitumen World resurfaced various roads by means of precoated 13mm reseals and 20mm thick asphalt overlays.

Gweru Emergency Roadworks
Bitumen World carried out resurfacing works to various roads in Gweru. The work consisted of precoated reseal and asphalt overlay.
The value of this project was $1,130,000.
Reconstruction of the Road to Forbes Border Post
Bitumen World was responsible for the widening and reconstruction of the last 800m of the road leading to the Forbes Border Post. The work consisted of bulk earthworks, pavement construction and reconstruction and cement stabilisation of the existing road using a recycler. The surfacing consisted of a prime coat and a 25mm thick hot asphalt layer.
The value of this project was $1,220,000.
Mutare Emergency Road Repairs
Bitumen World carried out remedial works to many of the roads in Mutare. The work involved patching, resealing and reconstruction using a recycler.
The value of this project was $945,000.
Marondera Emergency Road Repairs Phase 1
Bitumen World carried out road repair works to many of the roads within the municipal area of Marondera. The work involved patching, crack sealing, resealing as well as complete reconstruction using a recycler, prime, double seal and asphalt overlays.

City of Harare Emergency Road Repairs
Bitumen World carried out emergency road repair works to various roads and major intersections within the municipal area of the city. The work consisted of pothole and slack patching and overlaying major intersections as well as the complete reconstruction of several roads.

Gwanda Roads Rehabilitation
Bitumen World as Main Contractor to the Municipality of Gwanda carried out the rehabilitation of several roads within the Gwanda CBD. The work involved reconstruction and resealing.

Zimbabwe Open University Roadworks
Bitumen World was contracted to complete the bulk earthworks, pavement construction and the surfacing works to the new site for the Zimbabwe Open University.
Thornhill Airbase Rehabilitation Works
Bitumen World carried out the rehabilitation of several aircraft hardstands. The work involved the milling off of the existing asphalt surfacing and relaying with new asphalt. The project was for the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development.

Bitumen World was subcontracted by Group Five to carry out the reconstruction of approx. 25km of road sections between Harare and Rusape. The project duration was 6 months.

Zimbabwe Roads Rehabilitation Program – Phase 1: Goromonzi 6 Lane Toll Plaza
Bitumen World was subcontracted by Group Five to construct the Goromonzi 6 Lane Toll Plaza. The contract included the construction of temporary roadworks, permanent roadworks and the concrete and building works.

Surface Defects Repair And Reseal - Sector 6: Harare Urban
Bitumen World was subcontracted by Group Five to undertake the repair and resealing of the main road through the centre of Harare from the Kuwadzana Roundabout to the Jaggers Roundabout. The total length of road being 20km.
The value of the work completed was - US$4,770,200.
Nehosho Residential Development (Gweru)
Bitumen World as a subcontractor carried out the surfacing works to this new residential development in Gweru. The work consisted of priming, single and double seal and the supply and erection of road signs.
The value of the project – US$475,000.
Budiriro Phase 2—Surfacing
Bitumen World were subcontracted to carry out the surfacing works to the new high density housing development in Budiriro Harare. The work consisted of priming, single and double seal.
The value of the project – US$550,000 and was completed in October 2014.
Rehabilitation And Resealing Of Main And Suburban Roads In Chinhoyi
Bitumen World was involved as main contractor to the Zimbabwe National Road Authority (ZINARA) in the rehabilitation, reconstruction, resealing and asphalt overlay to certain roads within the Chinhoyi Municipality. The main road through Chinhoyi to Kariba as well as a section of the main road to Chegutu were patched and resealed with all road intersections being overlaid with asphalt. Various suburban roads were also reconstructed and/or patched and resealed.

Resealing Roads In Hwange
As main contractor to Hwange Local Board, Bitumen World carried out resealing works to 9km of roads in a project funded by Zinara, the Zimbabwe National Road Authority. All materials were supplied by the client.
The value of this project (plant and labour) was US$150,000.
