Ethics Institute Zimbabwe (EIZ): a non-profit, professional body corporate. Its focus is promoting national integrity by fostering responsible business conduct in both public and private sector organisations. EIS hosted its inaugural Business Ethics Awards Reception on 12th November 2021 at the Rainbow Towers Hotel, Harare.
Using the theme, “Celebrating Ethics in Action”, the Awards ceremony honored companies that had shown exceptional commitment towards embedding strong ethical practices as part of their corporate governance and responsible management ecosystems.
Bitumen World (Pvt) Ltd had been nominated to receive an Award under the Construction Industry Category.
The overarching objectives of the Awards were to;
1. Encourage companies to embrace strong, ethical practices as part of their governance and management systems.
2. Promote ethical leadership as a key factor in corporate governance and responsible management practices.
3. Assess the extent to which businesses are complying with the ethical requirements of ZIMCODE, the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act (for state entities & parastatals), and international best practices.
4. Raise awareness and uptake of strong ethics in both public and private sector entities, and the economy at large.
